Rhydhi Gupta

Senior Analyst, Public Policy

A Spanish-speaking lawyer and policy professional, Rhydhi works at the intersection of law, technology, and society. Currently, she advises leading actors in the social media and AI ecosystem on key regulatory frontiers, including data protection, content moderation, telecom regulation, and copyright. Her expertise is grounded in a human-centric understanding of tech products, with a particular research focus on balancing child safety with digital autonomy.

Rhydhi’s experience spans multiple areas of the legal and policy ecosystem. She began as a Legal Researcher working with disenfranchised communities in Assam, and later served as a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament, Mr. Derek O’Brien. In this role, she drafted the Right to Digital Literacy Private Members’ Bill (2022) and supported stakeholder engagement for parliamentary and related interventions.

Rhydhi was one of only eight fellows selected for the Virginia Tech Leadership in Technology Fellowship (2024-25). She was also named ‘Best Delegate’ at the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy in South Korea, has represented India at the Global Youth Leadership Program at the World Internet Conference, and has contributed to the Salzburg Global Leadership Summit on intergenerational equity. 

With a B.Com(H) and LLB from the University of Delhi, Rhydhi’s work focuses on combining policy research with strategic advocacy to build a safe, equitable, and innovation-led digital society.
