Harshita Kumari is a policy and gender specialist working across research, policy advisory, and programme design to support evidence-led advocacy and institutional decision-making. Her work applies a gender and political economy lens to policy questions around labour, social protection, and economic transitions, translating complex analysis into actionable strategies for governments, multilaterals, and civil society organisations. At The Quantum Hub (TQH), Harshita works across portfolios on gender, disability, and climate and clean energy transitions, contributing to research, stakeholder engagement, and policy design on inclusive transition pathways.
Prior to TQH, Harshita worked on FCDO-funded research informing the UK government’s Gender Strategy, with a focus on gendered rights rollback. She previously worked at Sattva Consulting on strengthening school-to-work transitions through a gender lens, and at Access Development Services on women’s economic empowerment through entrepreneurship. She began her career in corporate communications.Her writing has appeared across major Indian nationals such as The Hindu, Indian Express, The Print, and Scroll.
Harshita holds an MA in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex, and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in History from the University of Delhi (Jesus and Mary College and Indraprastha College for Women).
