Sonakshi Chaudhry

Sonakshi is a policy, communications, and gender specialist with over a decade of experience shaping research-led advocacy and partnerships across government, think tanks, and civil society. Her work centres on translating complex policy questions (particularly around gender, labour, and social protection) into actionable strategies for institutions and stakeholders. At TQH, she leads several projects in the gender and political economy portfolio, in addition to strategy, business development, and organisational design initiatives.

She has advised organisations on issues ranging from women’s economic empowerment (WEE) and their digital lives to gender based violence (GBV) prevention. This includes the design and implementation of national policy initiatives during a stint as a Consultant in the Economic Adviser’s Bureau at the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development. She also led research and editorial work for a podcast examining India’s female labour force participation, and her writing has appeared in leading Indian publications including Hindustan Times, Indian Express, Mint, The Hindu, and Outlook, among others.

Sonakshi holds an MA in Gender, Violence and Conflict from the University of Sussex (where she was a Chevening Scholar), and a BA in English Literature from St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi. She is a Trustee at the Woman of the Elements Trust, which provides free legal aid to women and child survivors of domestic violence, and has been a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Hub New Delhi and a delegate at the track II Australia–India Youth Dialogue.
